Beauty Equipment Space Planning for Salons and Spas

By LumiVera · Published 10 October 2026

Before ordering beauty equipment, check how it will fit into the room and the daily workflow. A machine can suit your planned service menu while still being awkward to move, store or position. A useful layout brief gives the supplier specific questions to answer and helps your team prepare for delivery.

Measure the room and the delivery route

Record the available floor space, doorway widths, corridors, steps and lift access. Include the furniture that will remain in the room. Ask for the equipment dimensions and packed dimensions separately: a unit that fits through a doorway may arrive in packaging that does not.

Sketch where the treatment bed, operator, trolley and equipment will sit. Allow the clearances specified in the equipment documentation and leave practical access for maintenance. Avoid estimating clearance from a catalogue photograph, which does not establish scale or service access.

Compare compact and floor-standing layouts

A compact machine still needs a suitable supporting surface, storage for accessories and a route for cables. A floor-standing device needs its own footprint and sufficient access around the unit. Ask about the actual dimensions, weight, wheel arrangement and placement requirements instead of assuming one format is easier for every salon.

Consider whether the device will stay in one room or move between rooms. For shared equipment, inspect thresholds and storage locations, then confirm movement instructions for the model. A mobile-looking chassis is not evidence that a unit can be moved while running or with every attachment fitted.

Plan utilities from the model documentation

Request the rated electrical input and installation instructions before choosing the final position. Ask which other site conditions or utilities the equipment requires. Where necessary, have a qualified local professional check the installation plan against the supplied documentation.

For facial equipment such as the N8050T Hydro Spa Machine or W002A Hydro Small Bubbles, ask how the supplied containers, handpieces and connections are arranged. Confirm the cleaning and refill workflow for the exact configuration. Similar category names do not establish identical setup requirements.

Make storage part of the layout

Allocate places for unused attachments, unopened supplies, cleaning materials and equipment records. Follow the supplier's storage instructions for each item. Keep the operating manual accessible to the team and decide where model and serial information will be recorded for support requests.

Think through a complete appointment changeover: where the operator retrieves supplies, places used items and prepares the equipment according to its instructions. This exercise often reveals a missing shelf or an inconvenient machine position before delivery.

Prepare a pre-delivery checklist

  • Room and delivery-route measurements recorded.
  • Device and packed dimensions confirmed in writing.
  • Furniture layout and required clearances checked.
  • Electrical and other installation requirements reviewed.
  • Accessory and consumable storage assigned.
  • Delivery handling and unpacking arrangements agreed.
  • Manuals, setup guidance and staff preparation arranged.

For multiple units, repeat the checklist for each model. Do not apply the layout requirements of a facial machine to an EMS chair, laser system or HIFU device without checking that model's instructions.

Send a practical layout enquiry

Tell LumiVera the model you are considering, your available room dimensions and any access limitations. Ask for dimensional and installation information before committing to an order. Combine this layout review with our professional beauty equipment buying guide to assess the wider business fit. Equipment operation and suitability should be reviewed by appropriately qualified people for the intended use.
